Canadian Heritage
With its northern exposure, Canadian winemaking is synonymous with icewine, a luscious wine with highly concentrated flavours made from grapes that have been left to freeze naturally on the vine.
Ontario’s ideal climates of warm summers and cold winters helped to propel it as the capital of Icewine in the world.
Our Iced Apple and Iced Pear wines are crafted to reflect this great Canadian tradition. Also made in the cyro-extraction method, these wines have similar complex and intense flavours derived from concentrated sugar, acid, and fruit extracts.
Enjoy these wines cold or serve them in the cocktails.
Semi-sweet, with tart and refreshingly crisp aromas and flavours of cranberry. Finishes clean and crisp due to generous acidity. Canada is the world's second-largest producer of cranberry, a native fruit variety in the eastern provinces. Often referred to as “super fruit”, cranberries are low in calories and high in vitamin C, vitamin A, and vitamin K. They also contain proanthocyanidins, an antioxidant that helps to prevent a range of diseases, including cardiovascular, cancer, and oral health.
Named after one of the juiciest peach varieties, Vivid is known to be sweet and flavourful. The wine reflects the fruit at its ripest. Niagara’s most established fruits, growing more than 80% of Canada’s total output. Peaches are low in calories, fat and sodium and contain vital nutrients that help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Their bioactive and phenolic compounds have anti-obesity and anti-inflammatory properties that also reduce the bad cholesterol associated with cardiovascular disease.
An off-dry, deep purple wine with rich aromas of ripe blueberry preserves and spice. Slightly tart with a balanced and velvety finish. Blueberry is native to North America. They contain high levels of anthocyanin. Recent USDA study found that blueberries are number one in antioxidant activity among 40 fruits tested. Antioxidants prevent cancer-causing cell damage and thwart the effects of some age related diseases. Anthocyanin in research has shown to improve brain function due to aging, which means improved cognitive and motor skills.
Vibrant notes of baked apples drizzled with honey and caramel. Round, full and immensely satisfying on the finish.
